If you need to use a Jeol NMR instrument for a liquid sample, here are some instructions to get a quick spectrum of your sample. Samples for most Jeol high frequency magnets use regular 5mm NMR tubes.

  1. Log in to the workstation.
  2. Click on the Delta icon on the desktop.
  3. Click the Spectrometer Control button (looks like a magnet) in the Delta window.
  4. The spectrometer control window will open.
  5. Click the yellow Connect button in the spectrometer control window to ensure that the software is controlling the instrument.
  6. Click the Sample button in the spectrometer control window.
  7. Click the eject button in the window (red arrow).
  8. Switch samples
  9. Click the solvent for your sample.
  10. Click the load icon (green arrow).
  11. Click the Autolock button.
  12. Wait for lock to change from working to idle (yellow to green).
  13. Adjust phase to maximize lock signal.
  14. Adjust Z1 and Z2 buttons to maximize lock signal.
